Testing Solutions
As a trusted and experienced test house, we provide a range of solutions to keep you compliant and successful within the early stages of your construction journey.

Key Benefits of Our Services
-
Structural Safety - an essential requirement when determining the load baring capacity of the concrete, directly impacting the structural integrity of the building or infrastructure. This is the first step in keeping you compliant for a long term time frame.
-
Longevity - predicting how the concrete will behave under pressure and to outside stressors produces vital details needed by other services when thinking about later construction methods. Long term it reduces risk and prevents failure by keeping the structure safely compliant and of high quality.
-
Cost Effectiveness - by putting the concrete through our various processes, we are testing in real time if the concrete will succeed during its predicted lifespan. Therefore, reducing the number of remediations and defects the concrete will encounter, saving time and money through the multiple years that the concrete will be in situ.
-
Quality of End Product - by testing that the mix meets strength, durability, and performance specifications we are reducing the risk of failure. Our aim is to verify the quality before and during construction, guaranteeing a longer-lasting, safer, and a more reliable finished product.
Air Test
It is crucial for the air quantity within the concrete that is being laid to match the required range. A fresh sample is placed into the air test cylinder in layers, each layer is rodded and tamped to avoid large pockets. The lid is then sealed on and pressurized to specifications and released into the concrete revealing the air content of the concrete. These results are read directly from the gauge. Air quantity is particularly important in freezing and thawing conditions. This process ensures that the concrete has the correct amount of air to improve its resistance to these stressors, as well as improving workability and longevity of the concrete being used.

Cube Testing
The Life Of A Concrete Cube
Core Sampling
A cylindrical sample taken from a pre laid slab, with the purpose of evaluating the concrete's strength, durability and overall condition. The sample can be tested in several ways; compressive strength, durability and (if requested) tests for density and composition can also take place. This process is a way of determining and assessing older structures as well as newly laid concrete. It enables an understanding as to how the concrete is behaving under certain conditions through different time frames.

Abrasions Testing
An abrasions test is a great way to measure if the laid product is resistant enough to withstand the specified stressors that the floor was designed for. A section of the floor is marked and the abrasions machine is drilled into place. Abrasive wheels then rotate over the floor at a specified pressure and speed. The depth of material lost is then measured giving a good understanding regarding the strength, durability and the resilience of the concrete to external stressors. For example high amounts of traffic, foot fall over time or harsh environmental conditions.
